The “Desert Kit” which is an extension of the basic kit , enables switching electronically between two suspension set-ups.
This is the newest suspension technology of the highest level for the Defender. The functions of this shock absorber system supplement the basic kit, adjusting to all conditions and providing safe handling with the highest traveling comfort.
The electronic switching allows it to choose between two suspension set-ups and can even be switched while driving.

With the switching not only the shock absorber settings but the following will be changed.
The new system allows choice between two completely different absorption functions -eg
1) the absorbing strength varies around 80%.
2) the hydraulic as well as the pneumatic function are separately defined, thus allowing extreme set-up variety.
The driving can be smooth and comfortable, it can also be flexible on all terrains and can change to a sporty tight suspension enabling high security and maximum drivability on the push of a button

In both set-ups this system adjusts automatically, by its absorption progression to the driving conditions. Almost everything on the shock absorbers are hand made from high-grade steel and aluminum and meet the requirements of motor sport quality.

This package includes four shock absorbers, two strengthened shock absorber towers for the front axle, an electrical set as well as an original Land Rover switch for the instrument panel.
